LEED Design Consultant and Commissioning Agent

The New Lower School Addition of 24,135 square feet a Gold Level LEED certified facility will serve as an Early Years Learning Center. This Building will house pre-kinder classrooms up to second grade classrooms along with a Science, Art and Music and Dance classrooms.

Saint Andrew’s School pursued LEED Gold certification level in their New Lower School Building Addition because they understand the benefits of green buildings to the educational environment. Overall, the school’s reasons for adopting green design principles are best summarized in the following principles for sustainability:

    Fits the mission of the school, which includes stewardship to the community.

    Provides a healthy indoor environment, which is associated with higher achievement, for the students and staff of Saint Andrew’s School

    Helps meet our fiscal responsibility by contributing significant savings in both energy and water usage.

    Allows us to use our facility, curriculum, and daily practices as vehicles to teach students about science and the environment

    Encourages other schools and businesses in the South Florida region to “go green” and models positive action to local environmental concerns.
